Red Willow Dreamcatcher
Please Select your Dreamcatcher size and let me know which color bead you would like via messenger or note on the order:
Bead color meaning:
red - ancestors/women
orange - Sundance/ceremonial path
yellow - new beginnings
green - life and growth
blue - healing and humility
purple - creator’s color
pink - transition
grey - introspection
black - spirit world / protection
white - purity
Each Dreamcatcher is handmade using Red Willow branches that I gather myself in the forests of the Pacific Northwest. I offer before taking, and only gather my supplies a few times a year I only take so many branches per-plant so as to not stress the living forest, if I run out, I run out. So get them while you can.
Each Dreamcatcher is blessed just for you or your loved one simply put their name in the note box before checkout or I will bless it/them using the name(s) on the order. I also put out spirit plates and feast this beautiful Dreamcatcher before it leaves my home to arrive at yours. I do advise to bless it again when it arrives, at buyer's request I will provide cleansing instructions after purchase.
Each Dreamcatcher also comes with a feather and bead, using the highest quality white Buckskin Lace this gorgeous piece will last you several Generations if treated correctly.
About the plant:
Again, Please note these are traditional dreamcatchers made with wood not made with the metal hoops. I use Red Willow seasonally. Meaning that there is a proper time and place to harvest plants, there are people here that will harvest year round or take back-orders.... I respect the natural order of the seasons, I also observe when plants too are in need of rest. It is important that we consider when rehoming medicines to people the source and being good stewards of our resources and not take more than we need, or a plant can give.
Red Willow:
This plant is extremely Ceremonial. It is used as a tea medicinally, it is used in Sacred pipes. The color represents the Ancestors, it shines brightly in Snow to remind us that they are watching, and it lives by the water which represents healing and by growing on the banks it sees both our world and that below the surface. It is a protector, representing keeping secrets and guidance.
The Legend:
When the world was young there lived a child in a village, all night and day it would cry. The Elders and Medicine Keepers tried everyday to understand what would cause the tears, alas, no one could understand why the child cried, day after day, month after month until little spider came. She studied the child and quickly realized that they would in fact fall asleep but instantly wake up and cry.... Nightmares.... Spider thought quickly (for she thought as fast as she could run) and an idea came to her. She began to collect sticks, and then she wove a web, then she found a bead on the Lodge ground, and finally a feather.
The sticky fibers of her web would catch all the dreams, but, only the good dreams would find their way to the bead at the center and then fall down through the feather onto the child's head.
The entire village rejoiced! Spider had saved the day!
USE:
For a Dreamcatcher to work it must be made of wood, it must have a bead to help the good medicine find its way to the center, without a bead the medicine stay trapped in the webbing forever, and a feather, this is the only way the energy can pass down through the gift of a winged one, into the person below.
Make sure to hang these over your bed, or meditation space (they are not meant for rearview mirrors)
They can fill up as well and stop working over time, they require cleaning or you can also retire it by fire in a good way. If you need cleaning instructions again just make a note at checkout and I will message them to you after purchase.
