Native American & Scottish Cultural Presentations:

  • Elementary & Scouting Ages K-6th

    NATIVE 101: Approx 2 Hours

    From Kindergarten to Middle school my presentations are divided into age appropriate themes and Materials. Younger kids enjoy traditional Storytelling, music and Dance. While older kids learn about Dismantling Stereotypes, what treaties are and how they impacted the United States. Stories, Songs, Dance, Arrow making demonstration* Sharing of Traditional Artifacts. There is something to learn for everyone.

    *Subject to School’s digression, Dreamcatcher making demo for schools that don’t allow for an Arrow

    Teachers & Scout Leaders will receive a packet of Age appropriate films, reading, local Native American Events, museums etc. To further expand learning both Before and After the course for an Optional Optimal learning experience.

    More Than Kilts & Bagpipes: Approx. 2 Hours

    This class is designed to put educate about the differences between Highland and Lowland Scottish People. This St. Patrick’s day instead of talking about Leprechauns have me come in and talk about Lugh Lámfada. Hear a short Bagpipe demonstration on the small pipes (Better for indoor playing) Help Pleat a great kilt and understand how they are worn. Learn a step of Highland Dance! Or try your luck at Guessing which tartan is which! Hear the Gaelic language and sing a song. Learn about the origin of the Book of Kells and how to this day Scottish and Irish people have a bond that can not be separated.

  • Adult Programs:

    Two-Spirit People Then & Now: Approx. 2 Hours

    This presentation Educates on the History of Two-Spirit LGBTQ+ on Turtle Island (The Americas) through sharing ancient Legends & Lore. Historically cited accounts of the courageous First Nations people who above all believed that Love = Love and our Impact on how our traditional beliefs effected Important events such as Marriage Equality.

    Cherokee People: Approx. 2 hours

    Stories, songs and a first hand up close look and feel of traditional feel of traditional Cherokee Art and how it differs from the Stereotyped and Romanticized image of the Plains/Plateau tribal people.

    Native American 574: Approx. 2 hours

    Stories, stereotypes, songs and cultural artifacts and critical thinking topics. Very similar to the youth presentation but has more influence on adult topics such as focus on racial inequities, current events etc.
